Atlantic Zeiser showcases latest card personalization solutions and technologies at CARTES 2009 in Paris

Market leader presents real customer applications and innovations for financial card services and other industries at world's most important event for card manufacturers, combining drop on demand (DoD) inkjet printing with the PERSOLINE and CARDLINE VERSA systems for flexible card personalization solutions

Tuesday 17. November 2009 - Market leader presents real customer applications and innovations for financial card services and other industries at world's most important event for card manufacturers, combining drop on demand (DoD) inkjet printing with the PERSOLINE and CARDLINE VERSA systems for flexible card personalization solutions

Atlantic Zeiser, supplier of dedicated personalization and coding systems, will showcase a feature-rich lineup of new and enhanced solutions at CARTES 2009 that are ideally suited to meet the needs of financial services and other industries. During this world-leading event for the business and card industries, held November 17th – 19th in Paris, the company will demonstrate how its customized modular solutions deliver the quality, flexibility and cost-efficiency that directly address personalization needs across a wide range of card manufacturing applications.  Atlantic Zeiser will be located in stand G041, in Hall 3, where live application demonstrations will be featured.

“We are excited to be presenting the latest solutions and technologies in the rapidly changing card personalization and manufacturing market at this important event,” said René Stoerk, Atlantic Zeiser’s Sales Director for Cards Systems. “Each year we continue to enhance our product and solution line-up to meet emerging customer needs in these critical application areas, and this work will be very evident in our show presence.”

At the event, Atlantic Zeiser will be demonstrating its latest innovations in card personalization and digital print production with both the PERSOLINE and CARDLINE VERSA systems.

The PERSOLINE system is equipped with an Input Module, Chip Module, Laser Module, Transfer Module, Printing Module with OMEGA 72 HD, SMARTCURE 72 and the AZ Camera System

The PERSOLINE system excels at producing large card volumes at lower costs, while achieving significantly higher productivity than other systems, at up to 8’000 cards per hour. This highly modular system is especially suited for a wide range of applications, including:

1. Flat financial cards with DoD inkjet printing and chip programming

2. SIM cards with DoD and chip programming

3. ID cards with GAMMA 70 full-color single-pass inkjet printing and DoD binary high quality printing

The CARDLINE VERSA system is equipped with modules that include an input module with magnetic encoding capability, a transport module with new DoD OMEGA 72 HD high resolution inkjet printing, SMARTCURE 72i LED-UV ink dryer, the new VeriCam Camera verification system, a Flipping Module, and a barcode scanner (ANSI grading), as well as dual shingle delivery.

The latest CARDLINE VERSA system is the world’s best-selling equipment for the personalization of

1. Flat financial cards with DoD inkjet printing and magnetic encoding

2. Multi-Voucher scratch-off telephone cards or gift cards

3. Other applications such as membership and loyalty cards

With its new DoD OMEGA inkjet printing module, the new Secure PIN scratch-off module and the new VeriCam camera system for print verification, the CARDLINE VERSA brings unique and innovative capabilities to the card market that will offer card manufacturers significant market differentiation in a highly competitive market space.

Three independent technological terminals demonstrate Atlantic Zeiser’s latest card manufacturing innovations

At the show, Atlantic Zeiser will present three complete application demonstrations with important new capabilities that will continue to evolve the card manufacturing business. These include:

1. Secure PIN scratch-off module for multi-voucher pre-paid applications

This new alternative to traditional scratch-off labels and foils combines high security, low cost of consumables and the outstanding flexibility of the CARDLINE VERSA, providing significant advantages in a highly competitive and cost sensitive market. Video demonstrations of this new application will be available, as well as sample output for show visitors.
Atlantic Zeiser Vericam: This features a new graphical user interface with improved ease of use for all functions.  This capability is already operational on CARDLINE VERSA systems and will be shown in live demonstrations.
White Ink.  New at the show will be Atlantic Zeiser’s white ink with the special OMEGA 70 W printer for DoD Inkjet printing on dark backgrounds commonly used in the card market for high level and quality-oriented card applications. Using white ink improves the look and feel of cards and can simulate embossing on cards. This offers increased and unique diversification opportunities for card manufacturers.

“Printing with white ink using inkjet has been difficult to implement in card applications,” explains Friedbert Bayer, Director of Market & Product Management, “because of the sedimentation that tends to block the ink supply systems.  We have been able to overcome this problem with our DoD systems. Atlantic Zeiser’s white ink package consists of Atlantic Zeiser ink, the new Atlantic Zeiser OMEGA 70 W printer and a corresponding UV-dryer.”

These new applications provide card manufacturers unmatched flexibility and fast changeover for unique card manufacturing capabilities. With detailed demonstrations of these new innovations and opportunities in the card manufacturing market, the Atlantic Zeiser stand is an important stop for all CARTES 2009 attendees.

“CARTES 2009 is an important event for both card manufacturers and Atlantic Zeiser,” said Hans Wyssmann, Atlantic Zeiser’s Vice President of Card Systems. “We look forward to the opportunity to share these exciting new applications and capabilities with the card manufacturing community.”

In addition to inkjet printing systems, in-house developed printing inks, and dryer and curing units, Atlantic Zeiser also provides total solutions with personalization technologies and transport units that are integrated according to the customer’s requirements. Sales experts will be available during CARTES 2009 to speak with customers about their particular application requirements and the opportunities for development of custom solutions.
