ELANDERS UK INSTALLS TAOPIX PHOTOBOOK SOFTWARE SOLUTION
Monday 16. November 2009 - Elanders UK, part of the global Elanders Print Solutions group, has recently installed TAOPIXs end-to-end photobook solution at its North Tyneside printing facility. The companys entry into the photobook market forms part of a strategy to dramatically increase its UK customer base by diversifying its print-on-demand product range and entering new markets in the business-to-consumer sector.
Says Kevin Rogers, Business Development Director, Elanders UK: “With the TAOPIX photobook solution now fully integrated into our workflow we have truly opened our doors to consumer-based business in the UK. All companies must diversify to remain competitive and we had been investigating for some time how we could develop a business model complementary to our current commercial operation that would enable us to reach UK consumers on a huge scale.
“In order to achieve this, we knew we needed to find a workflow solution that could support production orders of one unit upwards and be available for customers to use outside of normal commercial working hours. We also recognised that customer expectations are very high, whether they are corporate or consumer – you must be able to continually deliver what you promise and at the right price. So, we had to find an innovative and robust product to ensure our official launch into the consumer market was backed up by great technology. TAOPIX is a robust photobook solution for the production of personalised calendars, year books, greetings cards, diaries, posters and wedding and personal photo albums and offers commercial and digital printers, print-for-pay outlets, prolabs, photo and mini-labs the opportunity to develop strong, additional revenue streams for their businesses for what is a relatively small capital outlay.
The TAOPIX platform allows each printer to develop a customised business model around the software, providing each unique user licensee with full control over the solutions shopfront and multiple branding options via a customised client interface; as well as the option to input new product offers, pricing, shipping vouchers and tax setting/updates timeframes. TAOPIX also enables the printer or prolab to configure products to suit specific sheet size, set-up and finishing capabilities including custom covers for hard and soft back albums.
