Friday 23. October 2009 - Presstek, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing business solutions, today announced the signing of a distribution deal with Grafikus, one of Poland’s leading distributors. Grafikus will distribute Presstek DI digital offset presses and CTP solutions in the region, strengthening Presstek’s position in Eastern Europe.

Warsaw-based Grafikus-Systemy Graficzne Sp.zo.o. has 80 employees and regional branches. The company’s vast reach in the territory will help ensure a significant number of sales opportunities for Presstek. Grafikus will also provide excellent technical support for Presstek’s solutions.
For Grafikus, the deal will allow the company to explore new business opportunities in the digital market with the market-leading Presstek DI digital offset presses. Grafikus will also be able to supply its customers with a comprehensive range of CTP solutions, chemistry free CTP plates, and the Presstek Aeon CTP plate.

Jacek Kusmierczyk, Grafikus President, comments on the deal: “Presstek has a solid reputation not only for the quality of its products, but also for being an environmentally aware company. Adding the Presstek DI product range to our portfolio means our customers will be able to improve the quality of their print products, increase productivity and enhance their green credentials.”
Guy Sasson, Presstek President Europe, Africa and Middle East Region, says: “Poland is a very important territory for us. There are approximately 2,000 commercial printers in the region, and they are renowned for investing in the latest technology. Working in partnership with a leading distributor like Grafikus gives us instant access to this market and provides an excellent opportunity to generate additional revenue.”

Presstek’s highly automated, sheet-fed, four-color digital offset presses offer the most profitable solution for quick-turnaround, short-run, high-quality color printing. DI presses do not require separate prepress systems because the chemistry-free plates are imaged directly on the press. Presstek DI presses offer one of the lowest costs per sheet at run lengths of 500 to 20,000, while delivering up to 300lpi and stochastic screening – without incurring additional time or expense. Plus, more jobs can be delivered in less time as the DI can go from digital file to sellable color within ten minutes.
