BASF to increase price for BDO and BDO-derivatives in Europe
Tuesday 29. September 2009 - Effective October 1, 2009, or as existing contracts permit, BASF SE will increase its European selling prices for the following products:
1,4 Butanediol (BDO) +150 EUR/mt
Tetrahydrofuran (THF) +100 EUR/mt
Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF) +100 EUR/mt
N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP) +100 EUR/mt
Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL) +100 EUR/mt
The price adjustment is related to unsatisfactory margins and is necessary to ensure that BASF can continue to offer quality products and services to its customers.
BDO and its derivatives are used for producing engineering plastics, polyurethanes, solvents and elastic spandex fibers.
PolyTHF is a registered trade mark of BASF Group in many countries.
