FIDUCIA migrates to full color financial printing with Océ JetStream inkjet system

Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that the Océ JetStream? platform makes its debut in the German-speaking countries at FIDUCIA IT AG, the first implementation of the award-winning technology at a financial IT services provider. This IT service provider, based in Karlsruhe, Germany, serves the cooperative financial alliance of the German Credit Unions. With the Océ JetStream 1500 system, FIDUCIA can migrate to full color digital transactional and TransPromo printing and capture new business opportunities.
Print provider for 20 million clients
FIDUCIA IT AG is one of largest information technology service providers in Germany, with data center services, software development, and IT expertise. Approximately 2,800 employees serve a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, manufacturing and trading companies, and public organizations.
One of the services provided by FIDUCIA is statement printing and mailing, posting lists, and securities account statements for about 750 credit unions (Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken) serving about 20 million clients. Up to now, these documents – about 150 million mailings per year – have been produced in black & white using preprinted forms. Previously, using this conventional approach, content was statically printed using web offset, and variable data was added by a digital printer in a later step. Additional promotional documents could also be optionally enclosed in the enveloping process if required by the client.
Efficient production workflow with Océ JetStream
Now, by leveraging full color Océ JetStream inkjet printing, FIDUCIA can offer digital full color transactional and promotional printing. Savings result from reduced inventory requirements for preprinted forms. Moreover, production workflow is more efficient because variable statements can be printed in one pass without extra handling of the special preprinted materials.
“The Océ JetStream has changed this process. Its speed equals our black & white systems; the quality is very good; and by printing full color documents in a single process, we save money. As a result, there is no reason for us to use our preprinted product flyers any longer,” states Christian Kempf, manager of the print and mailing centre at FIDUCIA IT AG in Karlsruhe.
Transition to digital color
“Production is always a matter of speed, cost and quality” Kempf adds. The Océ JetStream 1500 system enables the transition to digital color advantages, while fully satisfying these three requirements.
FIDUCIA uses the Océ JetStream 1500 system with production rates up to 100 meters or 1,350 DIN-A4 pages per minute to print statements and promotional documents. “This is a typical example of the JetStreams outstanding versatility”, says Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing. “With the Océ JetStream, our customer is now able to expand his range of services to full color transactional printing including completely variable direct-mailing applications.”
