KODAK Plus Series Scanners Introduce New Levels of Imaging Speed and Quality for Growing Distributed Capture Market
Wednesday 05. August 2009 - At no additional cost to its customers, the KODAK i1200 Plus and i1300 Plus Series Scanners will improve document capture productivity by up to 50 percent over their predecessor models. The KODAK Plus Series Scanners deliver increased speed and image quality for departmental and workgroup scanning.
KODAK i1200 Plus Series Scanners will boast impressive upgrades to scanning speeds compared to previous KODAK i1200 Series Scanners, including 50 percent scanning speed improvements for 200 dots per inch (dpi) bitonal and grayscale and 300 dpi bitonal, grayscale and color (45 pages per minute (ppm) at 200 dpi and 30 ppm at 300 dpi). KODAK i1300 Plus Series Scanners also feature performance improvements including a 33 percent increase in scanning speed for 200 dpi, color at 40 ppm.
“We continue to help the document imaging industry meet the growing demand for distributed document scanners, driven by businesses seeking ways to reduce costs, improve productivity and mitigate risk,” said Tony Barbeau, Vice President, Marketing, Document Imaging, Business Solutions and Services, Kodak. “The Plus Series Scanners introduce new levels for the accuracy and usability of scanned information immediately at the point of capture.”
According to a recent report from Moyse Technology Consulting (MTC) the North American document scanner market grew by seven percent in 2008, with a considerable rise for the distributed capture category. The study also reveals the strategic significance of using document imaging to automate paper processes and streamline office operations.
The new enhancements of the Plus Series Scanners build upon Kodaks existing Smart Touch features, designed to more easily send documents to a variety of destinations. With the press of a single button, users can send scanned documents to third party applications, shared network drives, USB drives and networked output devices. Third party connectivity includes rich, seamless integration with MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server. This capability automates the process of scanning, sharing and storing digital documents within the popular content management application.
