Offset Printing
Differentiation through enhancement for packaging
Tuesday 04. August 2009 - Customer event at manroland in Offenbach: classy and efficient
From 21 till 23 July 2009, customers from the packaging sector got to know the possibilities for product differentiation and quality assurance. They saw innovative enhancement methods as well as color measurement and control systems, presented live in print demonstrations.
What can I do to set my printing company apart from the competition and be successful? What methods can I utilize to impress my customers with individualized and unique results? Whatever else, the print products must be creative and enhanced. Another prerequisite is consistently high quality. Printing companies from seven countries saw groundbreaking solutions for premium print results that convince all concerned in the supply chain.
Attractive and highly effective: print enhancement in sheetfed offset
At the beginning of the event, an eight-color ROLAND 700 HiPrint in UV operation equipped with a double coating module and interdeck dryers produced a highly enhanced packaging job. Stephan Engel from the Print Technology Center guided the visitors on a tour through the press and explained the special features of every module: the InlineFoiler Prindor provides gloss effects, the QuickChangeClamp system reduces coating module makeready times, and the ROLAND InlineSorter diverts start-up sheets or faulty sheets before they reach the delivery pile. The test sheets clearly showed the guests the possibilities for product differentiation: precise enhancement effects through UV coating and cold foil laminating that make print products more eye-catching and thus promote sales.
Value Added Printing (VAP) – More value for printed products
A six-color ROLAND 700 DirectDrive equipped with a novel, high-performance color measurement and control system produced signatures for an upmarket brochure. The DirectDrive technology is oriented on premium print quality which is right in line with manrolands Value Added Printing strategy: the combination of production efficiency and increased product value. This appeled to the customers from the packaging branch.
