REXAM CLOSURE FOR FLOWERBYKENZO DEMONSTRATES LATEST ADVANCE IN TAMPO PRINTING
Thursday 30. July 2009 - High resolution, photographic realism marks bold design
The latest version of the exclusive FlowerbyKenzo is capped by an ingenious, high resolution flower image captured by Rexam via the latest in tampo printing technology.
Constant refinement of this process, which in this case involves precise registration of the four colors, has resulted in a fragrance closure that showcases new levels of photographic realism with beautiful contrast and depth, according to Elisabeth Benoît, Cosmetic Closures Sales Director, Rexam Personal Care.
Our team delivered an image resolution of 200 dpi, 25 percent finer than the standard tampo printing process, for optimal realism and shelf appeal,” Benoît said. “Further, it is important first to master the injection molding and processing of Surlyn, used for this application, which is preferred by Kenzos marketing team for its transparency and fragrance compatibility properties.”
Available in only the worlds most prestigious retailers, the fragrances limited production run made tampo printing both the aesthetically superior, and most cost-efficient, technology. “For this special edition, the tampo printing process was the logical choice,” Benoit said.
“As with all our customers, we strive to constantly set new industry standards and surpass their expectations. It is our belief that a superior closure takes the premium consumer product to the level of fine art,” Benoit said. “Art, that is, that sells products.”
Rexams Center of Excellence in Simandre, France molded and decorated the Surlyn closure. The teams expertise ensured precise positioning of each color, for a flawless rendition of Kenzos hallmark flower image.
