The New York Times Company Names Kate Taylor Vice President, Strategic Planning – Technology
Wednesday 22. July 2009 - The New York Times Company announced today that Kate Taylor has been named vice president, strategic planning - technology, effective immediately.
In this newly created position, Ms. Taylor will be responsible for developing and implementing the technology operating strategy across the Times Company. Ms. Taylor will report to Joseph Seibert, senior vice president and chief information officer, The New York Times Company.
“We are very pleased to welcome Kate to The New York Times Company,” said Mr. Seibert. “Kate’s proven track record and her extensive background in technology strategy and operations will be a great asset to the Company.”
Prior to joining the Times Company, Ms. Taylor worked as a consultant for companies such as Time Warner, Viacom, News Corporation and Sony. From 2005 to 2008, Ms. Taylor was a director in the strategy practice for Archstone Consulting, a strategy and operations firm based in Stamford , Conn. Before that, Ms. Taylor worked for Intrasphere Technologies. From 1998 to 2004, she held several positions at Accenture and served as a key member of its media and entertainment practice leading many large scale transformation and systems integration efforts. Earlier in her career Ms. Taylor served as senior associate and vice president of operations for SGA, a boutique management consulting firm in New Canaan , Conn.
Ms. Taylor received a B.S. degree from Northwestern University in 1989.
