BOBST in the UK has developed a set of Service Packs for critical, high wear areas on diecutters and folder-gluers
Friday 17. July 2009 - BOBST in the UK has developed a set of Service Packs for critical, high wear areas on its diecutters and folder-gluers.
The packs could add millions of extra sheets per year to end users production. Each pack includes all the replacement parts needed to renovate critical areas, as well providing a technical team to fit and calibrate it.
Alan Letford, Bobst Group Service Manager for the UK & Ireland, said, “Even the best made equipment needs some TLC to stay in peak condition. Over time, the wear and tear of production on key components starts to affect both consistency and running speeds. Weve developed these Service Packs for critical, high wear areas on our diecutters and folder-gluers to ensure productivity is maintained”.
There are certain areas of diecutters and folder-gluers that tend to cause productivity drops – the feeder on diecutters, the belts on folder-gluers and autopackers, and the flipper-ejectors on ALPINA and MISTRAL lines.
Alan Letford said, “The idea is that one of our Product Specialists comes and assesses what the machine needs and then all the user has to do is choose a date for us to send in our team. It leaves them free to enjoy the improved performance, without having had to lift a finger”.
The first three Service Packs are now available and cover folder-gluer belts, folder-gluer flipper-ejectors, and the diecutter feeder, tablet and infeed. The team at Redditch is working hard to produce the next two packs, which will cover CARTONPACK belts, and diecutter delivery waste belts.
Alan Letford said, “Implementing one of these packs could mean two or three million extra sheets getting through a diecutter in a year, or many millions of extra blanks through a gluer. Not to mention many fewer sleepless nights for production or engineering managers!”
