Beyond 2009: Digital News Delivery Focuses on the Consumer
Friday 17. July 2009 - When it comes to digital news delivery, what lies beyond 2009?
Its likely to be new business models, new innovations and new responses to changing consumer behaviour – all of which will be examined at Beyond the Printed Word 2009, the 17th World Digital Publishing Conference, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on 5 and 6 November next.
As the flagship digital publishing event world-wide, Beyond 2009 will propose new ways, present the hottest ideas and the most valuable tools, and bring together the brightest minds in the digital publishing world.
The event will benefit from the recent merger of the World Association of Newspapers and IFRA, the global organisations of the worlds press, which have come together to form the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers. The new association represents 18,000 newspapers, 15,000 online sites and over 3,000 companies in more than 120 countries.
Beyond 2009 is built around the consumer, with sessions focusing on research to improve usability and to measure success and loyalty: on innovation in mobile services, e-readers and other platforms; and on search, social networks, local content, and paid-for models.
Confirmed speakers include: Wolfgang Blau, Editor in Chief of Zeit Online in Germany; Sara Öhrvall, Head of Research and Development for the Bonnier Group in Sweden; Philippe Jannet, CEO of Le Monde Interactif in France; Reiner Mittelbach, co-CEO of WAN-IFRA; and Anders Stenbäck, Manager for Business Development of Helsingin Sanomat in Finland.
The conference moderator will be Ramón Salaverría, Chair of the Journalistic Projects Department and Multimedia Communication Laboratory (MMLab) at the University of Navarra in Spain.
An early registration discount is now available.
The conference venue is the Hotel Skipper in the Barceloneta neighbourhood, easily accessible from the airport and only 50 meters from the city beaches and nightlife.
