Argraf Company Becomes the First Polish User of PuzzleFlow Factory Solution

Monday 13. July 2009 - During the Poligrafia trade fair, held in Poznan (Poland) in April, the ACCHSH’s offer was expanded with another new solution - PuzzleFlow Factory, the advanced software devoted for CtP studios and CtP departments of printing houses. Recently the solution has been implemented at the Warsaw-based Argraf printing house, which has become the first Polish user of PuzzleFlow Factory.

Rafal Fiks, responsible for ACCHSH’s training & demonstration center in Warsaw, says: PuzzleFlow Factory is one of our new several complete solutions devoted for certain market areas and production environments. Each one of them consists of modules that until recently had been purchased separately and offers all the functions available in each case. This complexity also concerns the pricing of our new solutions, which is much lower than the combined price of all the individual modules creating a certain product.

PuzzleFlow Factory is a software package devoted for companies that use a CtP platesetter in daily production. Based on the well established and popular PuzzleFlow Organizer program, the new solution offers all the functions that a professional CtP studio needs: from sending a file to the system, through its processing, to sending jobs to the CtP device. It consists of the following modules: PuzzleFlow Express-based jobs acquisition from customers and preflight, in standard version allowing for simultaneous work of ten users (with possible upgrade); correction; automatic and manual imposition; colour separation; sending queues for RIP. Optionally it offers as well colour management, CIP3 files creation and EagleRIP modules. Additionally, ACCHSH delivers a closed-loop, predefined and ready-to-work solution, eliminating the necessity of configuring the software by a user. The program is offered either as a separate solution or as an upgrade for existing PuzzleFlow Organizer licenses and it is promoted mainly among the current users of this software.

The first Polish user of the new ACCHSH’s solution is the Warsaw-based Argraf printing house. The company is currently implementing the PuzzleFlow Factory solution which drives a half-size Screen platesetter, purchased in the second half of 2008. Andrzej Malejko, owner of Argraf company, says: What’s interesting is the agreement concerning ACCHSH’s software was signed earlier, during drupa 2008 fair, at the time we were using Presstek CtP equipment. It included an upgraded version of PuzzleFlow Organizer that – after many modifications and developments – became available as PuzzleFlow Factory. The customised version, prepared especially for our company, included our suggestions and specification of Argraf’s production.

The Argraf printing house was established in 1990 and it offers complex production – from graphic design to finishing – of magazines, books, calendars, folders, catalogues, advertising materials etc. 20 people are employed here, including the staff of DTP and CtP studio that was started in 2006, when the Presstek system was purchased. Andrzej Malejko says that investment in PuzzleFlow Factory was welcomed very warmly by the printing house’s staff as well as by its customers: The software is easy to use, intuitive and – what’s very important – allows customers a current preview of the realised job, on every stage of its preparation for printing. As a result, he can incorporate possible correction and changes even at the last minute. These parameters were decisive when choosing the ACCHSH’s solution. The other important factors that influenced our decision were: the Polish origins of the system, which help in implementation and technical support, as well as a good pricing. The system is just being implemented, but it has already received very positive opinions from our customers. We are also working on promoting the software among our new customers. We are sure that PuzzleFlow Factory will streamline our work and make it easier for co-operation with our customers as well.

We are looking forward to other implementations of PuzzleFlow Factory in other companies, mainly CtP studios as well as small and mid-sized printing houses using CtP systems in B2 and B3 formats. Its implementation will be easier not only because of our customers’ knowledge of some functions and modules used in the previous ACCHSH’s programs, but also thanks to intuitive control of all tasks via a user-friendly Web interface – adds Andrzej Czyz, CEO of ACCHSH. – It is a closed-loop system, but on a special request we can modify or upgrade it with additional elements, just as it was in the case of Argraf company. Considering the diversity of our installations worldwide, we expect many suggestions and special requests from our customers. We will try to meet all their needs, including the costs of purchasing the system, which are much lower that a total cost of purchasing all the programs included in PuzzleFlow Factory.
