Kluge Webinar: Go LARGE with Vertical Presses Aired Yesterday

Thursday 09. July 2009 - Recording Available for Download

Kluge’s webinar “Go LARGE with Vertical Presses” was aired yesterday. The Webinar was hosted by our Vertical Press Product Manager, Thomas Andersen who talked about the benefits of our new line of large format vertical foil stamping, embossing and diecutting presses. The event concluded with a Q&A session by our Vertical Press Engineer, Roger Andersen.

We had a great response from attendees. If you were one of those attending, thank you for participating and making the Webinar a success!

For those who either couldn’t make the timeframe or missed the event for another reason, all is not lost! We made a recording of the entire seminar and now have it available on our website for download in both audio and video formats.

Q & A Summary

The following questions were asked during the Webinar:

Is the head or the honey comb heated? The upper platen is heated which then transfers the heat by contact to the honeycomb.

Does the V-8 version come in a 40″ model? No, the V-10 doesn’t come in an exact copy of the V-8, but with the configuration of the V-10 F we have added a number of features that make the V-10 F a dedicated foil stamping press with features that makes it much easier for the operator to use and set up the press than what you see on most presses in the market, today.

How much longer to thread foil from a V-8 vs V-10? It takes less time on the V-8 because it is a straight path to the rewind and also you don’t have to go inside the press to splice the rolls. I can see your reason for asking this question and it would be nice to have a setup like the V-8 for the V-10 but the upper platen is much bigger on the V-10 and would basically require a complete new design of the press that would make it a more expensive press to buy. We firmly believe the configuration of the V-10 F makes it a first class foil stamping press.

Can you die cut plastic on the V-10 DC? Yes, with the optional Plastic Diecutting and Scoring Package installed.

What is the lightest stock that can be fed when the “Fine Paper Feeding” option is installed on the machine? The fine paper feeding option utilizes a vacuum feed wheel system, to maintain registration on stocks that are lighter weight than those usually ran on the machine. With this option installed, we have successfully tested and ran stock as light as 60 gsm paper on the V-10 Series Press.

Can the brush rewind and the shaft rewind run at the same time? Yes.
