CTP - Computer to Plate
Journal-News Chooses Fusion DigiPage for Post-RIP Imposition Workflow
Monday 06. July 2009 - Fusion Systems International announced that the Journal-News of Hillsboro, IL, has chosen its Fusion WorkflowESP as a front-end for their existing Screen CTP imager. The Fusion workflow integrated seamlessly into their Screen supplied Windows Harlequin RIP environment.
In-house and externally generated PDF documents are RIP’d into DigiPage format as single pages on the Screen Harlequin RIP, using the Fusion DigiPage ROOM Workflow plugin. Processed pages are accurately numbered and automatically routed to the correct publication directory for post-RIP page pairing or imposition. Precision folio page number and automated file routing is achieved using DigiPage’s uniquely intuitive template-based naming, true page numbering and post-process scripting.
The fully RIP’d and screened paired or imposed DigiPaged pages are then output as separations through the Screen Harlequin RIP, where the imposed flats can be remotely soft-proofed from any client workstation as fully screened plate files prior to plating.
“When we went to CTP, we didnt understand the savings in time and plates, that a good workflow system could make possible. The savings and ease of use, with our new Fusion workflow were immediate and impressive, and the software was very affordable,” John M. Galer, Publisher of The Journal-News in Hillsboro, Illinois stated.
“At Fusion Systems, we integrate workflow software components that we’ve developed over the last fifteen-plus years, with best-of-breed third party software,” states Logan Herbert, Business Development Manager. “This allows us offer industry leading solutions that are modular and remarkably affordable.”
