WHY:
President Obama recently noted that there are millions of mothers and fathers who are lying awake at night wondering if next weeks paycheck will cover next months bills. Many parents are struggling to meet living expenses and cant afford to pay for the support services offered by TFS. The fundraiser is to support TFS in providing a safe environment for children after school and during the summer months where students have access to academic support through tutoring, financial literacy, life skills training, and enrichment and cultural programs. TFS also provides important support services, including parenting workshops, to the parents of its students.
