Giesecke & Devrient Provides Platform for Security Technology Start-Ups
Wednesday 27. May 2009 - Giesecke & Devrient has again teamed with Munich Networka grouping of tech venturesto host the second Mobile Security Forum at G&Ds Munich headquarters.
Twelve start-ups from the IT security segment are today presenting their solutions and applications to an audience of investors and G&D managers. As a leading provider of security technologies, G&D is giving these international companies access to potential partners and also considering signing cooperation agreements itself. The event is now in its second year.
“The increasing mobility of Internet and IT applications on cell phones and notebooks brings with it a need to enhance the security of flexible IT solutions. This forum is an informal and effective way of presenting new developments, identifying synergies, and getting partnerships off the ground fast,” says Dr. Kai Grassie, head of the New Business division at G&D, which is hosting the event. “Engaging with start-ups is important for us, with both sides able to benefit from the exchange.”
A total of 12 companies are taking part in this years Mobile Security Forum. Their presentations cover a broad spectrum of security solutions from the world of mobile communications. 5eDataSoft GmbH is showcasing a Linux/OSS-based software system for mobile multimedia devices, while ALK Solutions GmbH is focusing on development of customer communication software. AXSionics AG operates a platform for mutual authentication of people and organizations via the Internet and also offers security for electronic transactions via any data network. Contnet AG specializes in mobile messaging and billing of mobile marketing services. C-SAM Inc. focuses on delivering convenient, secure, flexible, and transparent Internet transactions. iC Compas GmbH & Co KG offers applications based on smart card and biometric solutions for authentication and encryption of data and e-mails. ISA Telematics GmbH is a systems integrator for GPS-based emergency and telematics solutions that can be used both for people and for tracking vehicles, containers, and mobile goods. major soft GmbH is presenting a Web-based content management system for businesses that can be deployed in a matter of minutes. MobiNetS offers modular server solutions for mobile payment, while NCPs solution simplifies Internet access to central corporate networks. Using biometric speech recognition technology, Speech Technology Center has developed a voice PIN, e.g., for cell phone security. Xmail AG is presenting a flexible system for e-mail archiving aimed at the mass market.
