FESPA Publishes New Planet Friendly Guide

Polar Bear

Friday 15. May 2009 - FESPA has published a new edition of its Planet Friendly Guide, available free of charge exclusively to members of its national associations.

The Planet Friendly Guide is an essential document for all screen and wide-format digital printers. It contains the most comprehensive, up-to-date environmental information available, and incorporates all current European environmental legislation.

Authored by FESPA’s Michel Caza in collaboration with environmental consultant Paul Machin, the Guide offers more than 100 pages of expert content, including information and advice on water and air emissions, waste control, energy management and environmental best practice.

Readers can also use numerous hyperlinks in the Guide to access third-party web sites for additional information and guidance, and the Guide will be regularly updated to reflect changes to legislation, ensuring that FESPA’s association members stay abreast of this business-critical issue.

The Planet Friendly Guide is available as a PDF download from the Community section on FESPA’s website: www.fespa.com. Members of FESPA associations simply need to register in the FESPA Community, if they have not already done so, then click on the ‘Community Log in/out’ tab, sign in and click on the Planet Friendly link.

FESPA’s Michel Caza comments: “Environmental sustainability is high on our industry’s agenda and printers find themselves under increasing pressure from customers and legislators to reduce their environmental impact and demonstrate their ‘green’ credentials. Improving environmental performance can go hand in hand with improving business efficiency and profitability, so it’s vital that printers have access to a single source of reliable information which can steer their decisions. The compilation and publication of the Planet Friendly Guide is an integral element of FESPA’s programme to support our members and promote best practice, and we urge printers worldwide to take advantage of this unique information source.”

The Planet Friendly Guide is currently available in English only. Printers that do not belong to a national FESPA association that wish to obtain a copy of the Guide should contact their national FESPA association to find out how to become a member.
