BERICAP Strengthens Position in the Sports Closure Segment

BERICAP offers two basic types of sport closures to the market, the well known Push Pull closure, consisting of 3 different parts and the 2-piece THUMB’UP® sport closure, offering the unique advantage of one hand opening and re-closing. It is an ideal closure for any beverage being used during sports such as cycling, when the user has only one hand available to open a bottle.

It is an ideal closure for any beverage being used during sports such as cycling, when the user has only one hand available to open a bottle.

The hinge closure offers an easy and safe opening/re-closing, is equipped with an ergonomic pourer shape and fulfils modern aesthetics needs. The good flow rate supports a good taste of the product for the consumer.
In 2008, JAMNICA, a leading Croatian mineral water bottler, has acknowledged the advantage of the BERICAP THUMB’UP sport closure and decided to replace all its Push-Pull closures used for flavoured water by THUMB’UP.
As well as the marketing advantages environmental reasons also supported the change to 30/25 THUMB’UP. Originally the 30/25 Push Pull with IHS foil, suitable for the aseptic process filling process, was used. The technical features of the newly chosen THUMB’UP sport closure do perfectly match JAMNICA’s aseptic process and specifications, allowing the elimination of the IHS liner , thus giving more consumer friendly handling, as the closure must not be unscrewed before drinking. The scrap and disposal of the aluminium foil can be avoided.
In 2009 and after the major success of THUMB’UP for flavoured water, JAMNICA is also now switching its famous water brand JANA to THUMB’UP.
