Johnston Press Board Appointment
Monday 20. April 2009 - Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in the UK and Ireland, announces that Mark Pain will become a Non Executive Director of the Company and Chairman of the Audit Committee with effect from 1st May 2009.
Mark Pain (FCA), aged 47, has spent over 10 years as an Executive Board Director as well as gaining significant independent Non Executive experience.
Since 2007 Mark has been a Non Executive Director and Audit Committee member of Punch Taverns plc, one of the UK’s leading pub groups, and from 2006 Mark has been Group Finance Director of Barratt Developments Plc (‘Barratt’), the UK’s largest housebuilder. Mark was formerly Group Finance Director of Abbey National Group Plc (‘Abbey’) between 1998 and 2001, and also served as Chief Executive of Abbey National Treasury Services and as Abbey Group Sales Director between 2001 and 2005.
