Thursday 02. April 2009 - Visual hints of well-being: Daniel Jouvance provides an example of how standard shapes can be individualized
An impressive variety of shapes, colors, high-effect printing and dosage systems characterize the latest plastic range presented by Gerresheimer at Cosmopack in Bologna. Inno¬vations include for example Aquamondi Maroc Shower Gel from Daniel Jouvance: the bottle with its silky printing gives visual hints of the well-being which its contents release in the shower (April 2-5, 2009, Hall 19, Stand C41/D42).
It is a thing of beauty in itself how the golden-yellow gel in the clear bottle corresponds with the identically colored closure. And the narrow upright rectangle which the designers drape like a precious silk picture around the slim roundness of the bottle is particularly attractive: a pale salmon tone forms the base – in equally pale blue the wording, brand logo and frame appear on this, as if viewed through a haze. Placed well below the shoulder, this field also lowers the optical focus, which creates an interesting proportional tension. Another fine detail: tiny star contours printed in filigree detail cluster around the bottle like a hint of delicate foam.
Hard to believe that this striking design is based on a standard shape. “Our standardized products for the cosmetics industry fill extensive catalogues,” says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerres¬heimer Group: “In addition to exclusive new developments, our display highlights a whole range of outstanding examples of the individual variation possibilities offered by this basic range alone.” Gerresheimer, he adds, is flexible in all regards.
