Open Text Joins Cisco Technology Developer Program, Completes Interoperability Testing
Tuesday 31. March 2009 - Open Text(TM) (NASDAQ: OTEX)(NASDAQ:TSX:)(NASDAQ:OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that it has joined the Cisco Technology Developer Program as part of the program's IP Communications solution category.
In addition, Open Text Fax Server has successfully completed interoperability testing with Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0 and Cisco Unity Connection 7.0.
The Cisco Technology Developer Program unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. Members of the program share Cisco’s strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction and are required to undergo interoperability* testing based on criteria set forth by Cisco. With Cisco Technology Developer Program member offerings such as Open Text Fax Server, versions 9.3 and 9.4, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco Compatible business applications that can enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of their Cisco network. (*The interoperability testing is designed to simulate typical customer configurations, and does not replace the need for on-site testing in conjunction with actual implementation.)
Last month, Open Text announced an updated version of its Open Text Fax Server product, the company’s market-leading electronic fax and document delivery software, with new features designed to help customers lower installation and ongoing maintenance costs. The products were previously marketed under the RightFax name by Captaris, which was acquired by Open Text last year.
The fax server products provide a powerful document delivery platform that lets customers fax hundreds or even thousands of purchase orders, receipts or invoices in transactions automatically from SAP or Oracle in seconds. Some large Open Text customers use the solution to fax more than 100,000 documents a month.
