New PerfectApply Range from Spandex Improves Quality and Workflow Efficiency for Sign Makers and Digital Printers
Tuesday 24. March 2009 - Innovative adhesive system enables quick and easy application of ultra-smooth, bubble-free vinyl graphics
Spandex, the pioneering one-stop supplier of complete and innovative solutions to the digital printing and sign making industries worldwide, has once again extended its popular ImagePerfect portfolio of materials, with the addition of the new PerfectApply range.
ImagePerfect PerfectApply is a range of cast and polymeric films suitable for large-format inkjet printing using solvent, eco-solvent and UV-cured inks. The PerfectApply products correspond to existing standard ImagePerfect equivalents, but incorporate an innovative air-egress adhesive system that utilises embossing patterns on the release liner. This delivers an ultra-smooth print surface that eradicates bubbles and wrinkles during vinyl applications, ensuring vibrant, high-quality graphics at any viewing distance.
Sign and printed graphics providers are also set to benefit from faster and easier application thanks to the user-friendliness of PerfectApply. This reduces the time spent on rework, while significantly increasing overall workflow efficiency and productivity. Further quality and efficiency benefits are afforded by PerfectApplys air-egress adhesive, which makes wet application redundant and allows for easy removal and reapplication of vinyl graphics.
“In the world of vinyl application, alongside superior visual quality, sign and large format print providers are constantly looking for efficiencies”, says Roland Keller, Executive Director Aftermarket Product Management, Spandex. “In particular, these include speed and application process security, which together equate to more installations and increased profits for the sign maker. As a high quality, easy-apply and repositionable media, ImagePerfects new PerfectApply range delivers on these fundamental user requirements and significantly extends the options available to sign and graphics businesses when fulfilling customer needs.”
PerfectApply Range
Spandex is currently offering an initial number of ImagePerfect vinyl media that incorporate the additional new PerfectApply adhesive System. These products and their respective benefits they deliver are:
IP 2520PA, White Gloss Cast Vinyl (PA): a very high-end cast product that utilises one of the most conformable vinyls available, thereby making it particularly suitable for car-wrap applications. Available widths: 122cm, 137cm and 152.4cm.
IP 2503PA, White Gloss Polymeric Vinyl (PA): incorporates a high-end, polymeric film, making it perfectly suited to indoor and outdoor applications including markings and decorations, and vehicle graphics. Available widths: 122cm, 137cm and 160cm.
IP 2516PA, Translucent Polymeric White Vinyl (PA): a superb, printable translucent product that has been formulated to promote brilliant and colourful images with a medium to long-term, exterior durability. IP 2516PA can be used in most interior applications and many exterior decorative and illuminated display applications (e.g. light boxes). Available widths: 122cm, 137cm and 160cm.
IP 2515PA, Satin Crystal Polymeric Vinyl (PA): a digitally-printable ‘crystal’ product for use in most interior applications and many exterior decorative and display applications where an etched glass or matt effect is required on a glass substrate. Particularly suited to glazing enhancement projects, PerfectApply technology facilitates application of this product to glass, making it a desirable, time-saving option. Available in widths of 122cm and 137cm, as well as 160cm – making it the widest, digital ‘crystal’ film in the market.
IP 5802PA, Satin Crystal (PA): a traditional signage media designed to create etched or matt effects on windows and glass panels. As with IP 2515PA, PerfectApply technology ensures easier application to glass, making it a more user-friendly option. Available widths: 122cm, 137cm and 152.4cm.
While the new PerfectApply products incorporate a different release liner to their standard ImagePerfect equivalents, the face film and adhesive system are exactly the same. This means that fire-rating certificates and print profiles applicable to standard ImagePerfect products also relate to the PerfectApply variants.
