High productivity and short makeready times
As the ROLAND 900, XXL the ROLAND 900 gets many friends in the USA, one of them is Wynalda Litho. About 80 percent of the Belmont, Michigan printers work is for the entertainment industry, and a good portion of their printing is on PET and PVC, plus SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate paperboard), foil board and other substrates. The former competitor customer relies on its ROLAND 900 in format 6 with its speed of 14,000 sheets per hour.
Plant manager Steve Shattuck says: “Compared to our previous presses in 3B format, the ROLAND 900 with UV coater turns out a lot more in less time. We also got easier to use with automated plate loading and other computer-assisted setups. Everyone in our pressroom liked that.” Wynalda now owns six manroland presses and all are networked with the printnet system. “Our guys like printnet and the ColorPilot control system because we can input information directly into the press and that dramatically reduces makeready times,” Shattuck said.
