AUTOBOND MINI 76 TH WINS NEW WORK IN FIRST WEEK
Thursday 12. March 2009 - During its first week in use, the Autobond Mini 76 TH at Cheltenham Print Finishers has led to additional folding, die-cutting and table work, as well as enabling the company to bring in-house laminating jobs that were previously sent out.
“With the current economic climate, we needed to make a decision whether to expand our services to attract new work, or carry on as we were,” says Rick Nutter, who formed the company 14 years ago with wife, Helen. “If the first few days are anything to go by, it has been the right move.
“We were farming out quite a bit of laminating and reached a stage where it made sense to have this facility in-house. Prior to the delivery of the Autobond Mini 76 TH last month, we contacted several customers and have already won more laminating jobs than would previously have come our way. What has perhaps been more surprising is the extra business that clients have sent us for our other finishing processes.”
Cheltenham Print Finishers employs 11 staff and provides comprehensive finishing services to sheet-fed printers based as far away as South Wales, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire. The company has already had three people trained to operate the Mini 76 TH and plans to train a further two.
“The Autobond machine has proved to be very straightforward to use and was in production the same week it was delivered,” says Rick Nutter. “I’ve seen Autobond equipment at many exhibitions over the years. We were particularly attracted to the excellent build quality and the Heidelberg feeder, which allows a wide range of stock to be handled at high speed.
“In addition, I was very impressed when I visited the Autobond factory in Derbyshire. They’re similar to us in being a family run business, and I hope we convey to our customers the same type of friendly and professional atmosphere I encountered at Autobond.”
