“Roland is renowned for its innovation and desire to constantly push the boundaries of wide format technology and users who have invested in Roland have hugely versatile machines at their disposal, which can be used to produce an incredibly varied range of products. We want to make sure users are aware of all the possibilities and that these machines are being exploited to their full potential. Our aim is to help our customers build businesses that will make them more money.”
A diverse portfolio
The world’s best-selling integrated print&cut series the VersaCAMM is designed to enhance the productivity of creative professionals everywhere. Featuring a compact design and numerous enhanced productivity features, the VersaCAMM VP models make it easier and faster than ever to produce durable, professional-quality posters, banners, POP displays, labels, decals, vehicle and floor graphics, heat transfers for apparel and more.
The robust entry level RS-640 machine is ideal for producing a range of graphics from precision composite designs to large outdoor posters and banners, the RS-640 can support a variety of substrates including high-end proofing material, vinyl for banners, textiles and eco-friendly papers. The printer also features Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology, which guarantees image integrity even at higher print speeds.
Targeting the niche production sector is the award-winning VersaUV LEC-300. The LEC-300 is the industry’s first wide-format UV inkjet printer/cutter and uses safe, low-heat LED lamps to create special effects and finishes for luxurious, customised graphics. The LEC-300 prints CMYK + white + clear gloss on an extensive range of substrates with unmatched colour, texture and dimension. At 30 inches wide, the LEC-300 is a highly versatile production tool that can be used for both short production runs and pre-press applications such as label proofs, packaging comps and prototypes. The clear coat offers unique, realistic textures, patterns and effects ranging from high-gloss area highlights to custom-textured faux leather and crocodile skin, 3D doming and Braille.
Roland DG will also be showcasing a selection of engraving machines, further demonstrating the vast array of possibilities achievable when using a Roland machine.
Customer confidence
Roland is unique in the market as a producer of not only wide format hardware, but also the VersaWorks RIP software and its range of eco-solvent inks. This offers a peerless synergy, giving customers peace of mind in the knowledge that all parts of the print production process have been developed to the highest quality and operational standards by Roland itself. Information about Roland’s market-leading support, including RolandCare and the Roland Academy, will also be available from all technical, sales and product management personnel on the stand.
Remaining positive together Concludes Jerry Davies, Managing Director, Roland DG (UK): “We believe in, and place a tremendous value on, the relationship between a manufacturer and user. This becomes even more acute and necessary in tougher economic times. Working in partnership with a manufacturer allows users to take advantage of free upgrade paths and other added-value initiatives that all good manufacturers continually offer customers.
“Sign & Digital UK is a key show on Roland DG’s exhibition calendar and we are looking forward to another positive and busy exhibition. While there is no doubt the general market is experiencing difficulties, the show provides a real opportunity for customers and manufacturers to come together and show how we can all work together to maintain a vibrant industry through exploiting great technology and best practice production techniques. We believe the show will be another strong showing for Roland DG and help set a good platform from which to drive the company and its products into the market in 2009.”
