Kodak Showcases Document Imaging Technology that Helps Provide Rapid Access to Information and Increases Overall Business Efficiency
Thursday 05. March 2009 - Kodak brings latest document capture products to CeBIT 2009, FOSE 2009 and PMA 09
Kodak highlights its next generation of document imaging technology at several major worldwide and national tradeshows in March, showing businesses how to effectively transform paper documents into highly usable, accessible content. Attendees will be able to experience how using KODAK Scanners and Software can help drive productivity, increase efficiency and secure data across their organization. Demonstrations will be available at the CeBIT Expo, March 3-8 in Hannover, Germany (Hall 3, Stand B29), the PMA 09 Imaging Convention and Trade Show, March 3-5 in Las Vegas and a week later at FOSE 2009, March 10-12, in Washington, D.C.
CeBIT 2009, the worlds largest computer expo, and FOSE 2009, focused on technology solutions for government end users in the U.S., will feature several of Kodaks latest document capture technology products, including the new KODAK Scan Station 500 Networked Scanner, KODAK i700 Series Scanners and KODAK Capture Pro Software v 1.1. At PMA 09, attendees seeking revenue generating photo retail applications can view demonstrations and learn more about the enhanced KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System.
“Businesses that establish a standard platform for digitizing information from their unstructured paper documents, can save time, money and more effectively meet their customers needs,” said Tony Barbeau, Vice President, Marketing, Document Imaging, Business Solutions and Services, Eastman Kodak Company. “With one of the broadest selections of document imaging products, solutions and services available, Kodak makes it easier for more businesses and organizations to implement dedicated systems that increase the efficiency of document dependent processes.”
The portfolio of KODAK Scanners, a standard choice for many end users, service providers and resellers, now includes the KODAK Scan Station 500 and the KODAK i730 Scanner and KODAK i750 Scanner. The Scan Station 500, a networked scanner, combines the power and performance of a dedicated document scanner with the convenience of a multifunction device. The capture system provides improved ease of use with an innovative touch interface, making operations easier and enabling better control over file distribution and sharing. The Scan Station 500 also features an enhanced eight inch touch screen, as well as Kodaks exclusive Voice Attachment feature that allows users to send personalized comments or instructions with scanned documents.
For document workflows that demand a more robust capture point, the KODAK i730 and i750 Scanners offer end users a high performance, mid volume production scanner capable of scanning large volumes of documents at speeds normally associated with 200 dots per inch (dpi), into images with quality of 300 dpi. This level of performance delivers true productivity in real world environments by enabling intelligent image processing functions, such as optical character recognition (OCR) at fast production speeds.
Kodak will also showcase a new addition to its software offerings, KODAK Capture Desktop Software. Built on the same infrastructure as KODAK Capture Pro Software, Capture Desktop Software provides users with an entry level batch capture application specifically designed to increase productivity for distributed scanners. An easy to use graphical user interface (GUI) offers a variety of features, from drag and drop OCR and indexing to searchable PDF output and output to MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT Server. Capture Desktop Software will be shipped at no extra cost with the purchase of a distributed capture KODAK Scanner.
