FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR NORTHPRINT

Wednesday 04. March 2009 - It is business as usual for Northprint on 21-23 April in Harrogate, despite the difficult economic climate.

“Northprint has always been an important event in the industry calendar,” says Nicky Mason, managing director of organisers IIR. “While there is no doubt that some suppliers are going through challenging times this year, we are pleased with the commitment to the event from many key companies. Yes, it will be a smaller show, but it will still feature the full spread of technologies and topical seminars to make it an important destination for printers.”

Visitor registration is already very strong at this stage. “This indicates that printers are optimistic and looking at investments which will streamline production and build value in their businesses,” says Nicky.

A major focus of the show will be integrated digital print and finishing solutions driven by flexible management and production software. Leading digital press suppliers will display the latest colour technology:

– Konica Minolta demonstrates high speed, high volume mono and colour printing with variable data and integral finishing.
– Presstek has environmentally friendly solutions for quick turnaround, high quality colour printing, with the highlight being its automated 52DI digital offset landscape press.
– Ricoh shows its latest high volume machines including the Ricoh Pro C900.

At a time when business control is paramount, visitors to Northprint can evaluate powerful web to print, production and business management software. Many companies are incorporating environmental and waste monitoring into their systems. Imprint Business Systems’ new eVolution MIS features full FSC and PEFC controls, estimating, production control and waste monitoring. Presstek Pathway is an online workflow and management solution for digital printing. Sefas Innovation will show personalised document management and Satori and Tharstern will demonstrate the latest developments in their MIS.

As well as the latest in technology, Northprint has a free to attend topical seminar programme hosted by Printing World. These seminars cover a variety of relevant issues:

– Alan Dresch of Mellow Colour hosts ‘How to produce best quality print – colour control is central to your business’.
– ‘How to add value to your business through innovative digital print services’ is presented by Patrick Headley, transpromo expert at GI Solutions.
– Printing World editor Alison Carter describes how to maximise the profit potential of creative print products.
– Creating print business opportunities through smart marketing is the subject of the seminar from Gary Best, strategic relationship director at CW Print.

With a packed programme of events and exhibitors from all aspects of the printing industry, Northprint promises something for everyone. “The market is still active and Northprint is the place for suppliers to provide solutions to their customers. Visitors to the event will be able to take advantage of the many value building applications and technologies on display. Northprint is also an opportunity to meet with peers and others in the industry to discuss ideas.” says Nicky. “I am pleased to say that this is now having a positive impact on Northprint from new exhibitors and visitor registrations.”
