CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY IN TABLOID AND MEDIUM FORMAT

Monday 02. March 2009 - KBA will be giving a live demonstration of two sheetfed offset presses during Grafitalia on a 600 m² large stand in Hall 9P (stand B30/D31): With a Rapida 75 five-colour press with coating tower, the new tabloid format generation is also celebrating its first appearance at the Italian exhibition.

The Rapida 75, first shown at drupa 2008, is available both in the standard 53 x 75 cm format and in the special 60.5 x 75 cm format, which can offer advantages for packaging printing in particular. It boasts a small footprint and significantly lower energy requirement compared to many other machines in this size category. This makes production with the Rapida 75 particularly economical and environmentally friendly.
KBA will also be showing the world champion in makeready times in the medium format in the form of the Rapida 106 (74 x 106 cm format). The six-colour press for production speeds of up to 18,000 sheets/h is equipped with a coating tower and delivery extension, a board package and all features for fast job changes and inline quality control. These include the DriveTronic SIS no-sidelay infeed, DriveTronic SPC for simultaneous printing plate changes with PlateIdent automatic pre-register adjustment and QualiTronic professional inline colour density control. This hybrid equipment provides the requirements for a wide range of interesting finishing effects.
In a central demo area, KBA Complete will show the digital networking of printshops from pre-press through printing to finishing and the distribution centre for MIS-based organisation of printshops.
