Workflow
Getting print & online together
Wednesday 18. February 2009 - ppi Media at mediaXchange in Las Vegas, Stand 2223
As newspapers refocus their business models toward multiple platforms, the Newspaper Association of America will hold the first annual NAA mediaXchange, a new conference for industry professionals to share audience and revenue development strategies that have generated growth in print and online. The inaugural conference, a single event that will replace both NAAs marketing and NEXPO, marks an increased focus on emerging digital platforms. The workflow specialist for automated newspaper production, ppi Media, will also be exhibiting at mediaXchange 2009 in Las Vegas from March 9 – 11, 2009 and presenting its latest developments in the field of multi-channel publishing, at the center of which is its media-convergent ad workflow and innovative strategies for production consolidation.
Optimize your ad sales for print and online
Today, customers expect late ad deadlines, flexible offers with customized,
cross-media placement combinations, as well as competent and fast advice. AdInvent, ppi Medias ad reservation solution, provides you with an innovative tool that makes it extremely easy to reserve ads, both in print and online. By integrating them into a single system, ppi Media lays the foundation for cross-media packages as well as for efficient and transparent sales processes. This new web application, with its database-aided and multi-user capability, has been developed to accommodate the growing volume of online ads and increased complexity of ad reservation facing companies today. ppi displays the complete ad booking options of all the publishers web portals and print editions on a continuous time axis in a single system, providing ad sales managers with information on all available and booked spaces. To improve the sale of cross-media offers, different combinations of ad formats and spaces can be reserved in one or more portals and print editions. Standard packages can be stored as templates, allowing fast processing of complex booking combinations. Whereas the first-level system has been designed as a standalone solution, ppi Media plans to introduce a number of enhanced functions in 2009 that will provide access to ad booking systems and ad servers.
Simplify your ad production
Besides ad sales growth production automation is key for todays business strategies in publishing companies. AdMan has been designed as a master system for the ad production department. Standard ad booking systems are seamlessly integrated via open standard interfaces for an efficient, automated ad production workflow. AdMan has been optimized for use with SAP. ppis ad production solution has been upgraded for mediaXchange to prepare for the online era. A new browser-based web client, which will replace the functions of the previous full client step by step, already provides a much improved workflow for digital ads. In addition, it will be possible for ad customers to access their ad orders via a web portal and to upload production files to the AdMan system themselves. In order to accommodate the growing online market, AdMan also supports the production of online ad formats. Whether skyscrapers, banners or rectangles, all standard online formats are efficiently created and automatically checked to ensure that they are ready for publishing. The production of animated advertising, a feature that is becoming increasingly significant, is also covered by integrating Adobe Flash in AdMan. Since ppi Medias workflow network is web-based, ad production can either be performed in-house or it can be outsourced. The staff at the outsourced company can access the job data assigned to them directly via the internet.
