Océ strategic plan and business model safeguard competitive position in 2009

Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today published its 2008 Annual Report in English and Dutch
This extensive document reviews a range of issues including financial and commercial performance, R&D activities, technological innovation and the role of Océ as a responsible corporate citizen. The Annual Report will be available in printed form in English and Dutch on 19 February 2009.
Geographic revenue development
Of its total 2008 revenues of EUR 2,909 million, Océ generated 36% in the US market (EUR 1,066 million); 11% of company revenues came from both Germany and The Netherlands (EUR 312 million and EUR 310 million respectively); and 7% of company revenues came from both France and the United Kingdom (EUR 201 million and EUR 192 million respectively). A further 19% of total revenues came from other European markets (EUR 579 million) while 9% of revenue (EUR 249 million) was generated in countries outside Europe and the United States.
Revenue development per Strategic Business Unit (SBU)
Revenues in the SBU Digital Document Systems amounted to EUR 1,632 million; in the SBU Wide Format Printing Systems EUR 850 million; and in the SBU Océ Business Services EUR 427 million.
Océs strategy: distribution power, product portfolio, operational excellence
The Annual Report focuses on Océs strategy, which is based on three pillars: expanding selling power, strengthening product portfolio and optimizing business processes. The first two cornerstones are well developed. There are still many gains to be made in optimizing business processes and the most important actions for 2009 relate to that strategic cornerstone.
