Gerresheimer exhibits Sheyda flacons from SPPC Paris Bleu

Was it a droplet perhaps or an exotic flower bulb – or maybe a delicate oriental garment -which provided the inspiration? There is no limit to the imagination in the flacons for Sheyda: a perfume series with three variants, which SPPC Paris Bleu has awakened into life for its brand Yves de Sistelle. At PCD in Paris the wonderful coloured glass flacons now cast their magic spell in a Gerresheimer showcase (February 3-4, 2009, Booth D01).

Friday 06. February 2009 - Was it a droplet perhaps or an exotic flower bulb - or maybe a delicate oriental garment -which provided the inspiration? There is no limit to the imagination in the flacons for Sheyda: a perfume series with three variants, which SPPC Paris Bleu has awakened into life for its brand Yves de Sistelle. At PCD in Paris the wonderful coloured glass flacons now cast their magic spell in a Gerresheimer showcase (February 3-4, 2009, Booth D01).

Totally unimpressed by the material spirit of the times the glass sisters offer the senses an opulent oasis of shape and colour. Each of the three is certainly a fairytale vision – it is impossible to resist the magic of Sheyda Rose, Sheyda Blue and Sheyda Purple for long. “This design incorporates an interplay of literally fantastic effects. Something like this can be achieved only through intensive teamwork by all those who are involved,” says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerresheimer Group. The shapes of the glass flacon and its hood were tailored in detail for each other – right through to the fascinating light and colour reflections which appear to different effect in the two materials.

With the perfect synergy between materials the flacon really represents a little work of art. From a narrow tip the plastic cap first of all opens out like a trumpet – tinted in transparent rosé, blue or violet like the glass. From the edge of the cap the glass body emerges seamlessly. Vertical cuts turn the drop shape into the form of a flower bulb: around the glass twelve swellings are thus created in which the colour seems to dance as in gossamer billowing silk. Anyone who is uplifted by this sight – and who cannot be? – will be equally transported by another delightful perspective: viewed from above Sheyda is transformed into a twelve-petalled flower.
