S.T. Dupont packs its new Interparfum fragrance in a suitcase flacon – Gerresheimer presents its
Thursday 05. February 2009 - S.T. Dupont is well known for exquisite accessories. With writing utensils, cigarette lighters or for example leather goods in the luxury class, an unusual new utensil in the fragrance business of the aristocratic Parisian house fits in very well: the Interparfum fragrance Passenger travels in convenient leather - under this cover the flacon is of course made of glass. Gerresheimer has this businesslike novelty in its luggage at PCD (Booth D01).
In its compact suitcase flacon Passenger easily finds space in every travel bag. The closely fitted leather with its tastefully accentuated seams and the S.T. Dupont logo printed down the side makes an unobtrusive impression although highly extravagant. “Here completely different materials complement each other in a very special way,” says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerresheimer Group: “We have masterfully succeeded in putting untypical but brand-specific materials to use in the flacon get-up.”
Apart from the black or white leather sleeve which completely encloses the glass wall, only the aristocratically shimmering metal cap can be seen. Even after opening the flacon one looks in vain for the glass: the angular spray head protrudes from a metallic shoulder section to which the glass interior is fitted to perfection. So in simple and technical terms the metal alone contrasts attractively with the visibly soft and supple coat around the bottle which, although in this case travelling under cover, brilliantly performs its key “strongroom” function – angular and hard as glass.
