Saber Government Solutions Re-branded as EDS, an HP Company
Tuesday 06. January 2009 - EDS, an HP company, today announced that Saber Government Solutions, its non-healthcare U.S. state and local government subsidiary, has become the State and Local Government division of EDS U.S. Public Sector business unit and will be known as EDS, an HP company, effective Jan. 1, 2009.
When EDS acquired Saber in November 2007, the company became known as Saber Government Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of EDS. The most recent name change is part of a strategic initiative leveraging the strengths of Saber, EDS and HP to enhance the combined companys existing offerings and expand its footprint into new areas in the state and local market.
The EDS State and Local Government unit delivers proven IT solutions in election management, motor vehicle administration, tax and revenue management, child support enforcement, child care management, public retirement benefits administration, public safety and justice, unemployment insurance, and IT outsourcing.

EDS State and Local Government unit will be managed out of EDS U.S. Public Sector organization in Herndon, Va. The EDS U.S. Public Sector team provides a full spectrum of technology services to federal, state, local government agencies across the United States.
