Roland Expands Organization with New Hires and Promotions
Tuesday 30. December 2008 - Responding to the needs of the company's growing customer base, Roland DGA Corporation has added senior level managers to its management, sales and service teams.

Rick Scrimger, Vice President and General Manager
Rick Scrimger’s responsibilities have changed to include all inkjet devices, software, supplies, vinyl cutters, engravers, and 3D scanning and milling machines. In this position, Scrimger is responsible for leading the company’s sales, marketing, and product management initiatives. Scrimger’s background includes his previous role as vice president and general manager of Roland’s Color Products division as well as senior sales and marketing management experience with the Graphic Intelligence Agency/GretagMacbeth/Xrite. In addition, he has more than 10 years of sales and product management experience with Roland. A frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences nationwide, Scrimger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Pitzer College and an MBA from the UCI Graduate School of Management.
David Nelson, General Counsel
David Nelson has been appointed general counsel for Roland. As general counsel, Nelson is a member of Roland’s senior management team, provides strategic leadership and legal counsel for the company and oversees all aspects of the company’s legal affairs. Prior to joining Roland, Nelson served as the principal attorney at the Nelson Law Firm which he founded in 2002. Nelson’s law practice primarily consisted of representing businesses and individuals in the areas of corporate and business law, including the sale and acquisition of several companies, key strategic transactions, and occasional litigation. Nelson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Azusa Pacific University and a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was also a member of the Law Review and the Moot Court team. After graduating from law school, Nelson served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Johnnie B. Rawlinson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Joe Dawson, Senior Director of Sales
Joe Dawson has been promoted to the position of senior director of sales, responsible for key sales functions across all Roland inkjet devices, vinyl cutters, engravers and all related supplies and accessories for North and South America. Dawson brings to the position more than 20 years of senior-level sales experience and has served in both sales and business development roles for Roland since joining the company in 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.
Fred Sciuto, National Sales Manager, Color Products
Fred Sciuto has joined Roland as national sales manager for color products, responsible for sales of inkjet products, supplies and accessories for the U.S. market. Sciuto has more than 18 years of successful sales and sales management experience in digital printing, commercial printing and packaging with Eastman Kodak, Creo, and Agfa. Most recently, he served as a district sales manager with Eastman Kodak Company in its Graphics Communications Group, focusing on the high speed digital printing market. Sciuto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Municipal Management from Western New England College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Mark McClafferty, Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager
Mark McClafferty has joined Roland as the Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager based in the Philadelphia area. McClafferty has more than 10 years of digital printing experience in pre press, promotional product development and sales concentrated in the color and variable data markets. Most recently McClafferty served as a business development manager for Staples, responsible for large format and digital printing sales for the eastern region. McClafferty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kings College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
Michael Nichols, Service Manager
Michael Nichols has been promoted to the position of service manager for Roland. Nichols brings to the position more than 20 years of managerial experience including eight years at Roland where he has served in operations management and network administration positions. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix.
