Konica Minolta Launches New Compact Colour Three-In-One-magicolor 1680MF and Four-In-One-magicolor 1690MF
Wednesday 24. December 2008 - As more and more people are working from home the demand for high quality all-in-ones has increased. With this in mind Konica Minolta has increased its all-in-one range by producing a compact colour device magicolor 1680MF which prints, copies and scans and the magicolor 1690MF which prints, copies, scans and faxes.
The magicolor 1690MF can be easily integrated into any network. Teams with larger print runs can benefit from the magicolor 1690MF-d with a duplex unit for double sided printing and from the magicolor 1690MF-dt with a duplexer and an additional lower paper feeder.
The all-in-one systems can handle many media from variable paper formats and weights. The high media flexibility allows processing paper from 60 up to 209 gsm; let it be thick paper, labels, or envelopes. Whether the user seeks to create presentations, signs, double sided business cards or sales support items, the new magicolors easily handle a wide range of in-house production. Quick document duplication is made possible thanks to the ID card copy mode that transfers both sides of a document to one single sheet. This helps to reduce costs and so do the two separate start buttons for colour or monochrome copying.
The space-saving all-in-ones make all scan jobs child’s play for which special scan functions are responsible. With LinkMagic, for instance, users are able to scan data directly to any folder on their computer. Though the software not only attaches scanned documents directly to emails, it also generates new documents with the scans and opens the appropriate applications on the user’s desktop. The magicolor 1690MF additionally scans to e-mail and reaches highest flexibility level with its standard fax function. For a maximum ease of copying, scanning and faxing its standard automatic document feeder processes several pages at once.
Besides outstanding flexibility, Konica Minolta’s magicolor 1680MF and magicolor 1690MF distinguish themselves through an excellent performance in quality and economy. The Simitri HD toner, one of Konica Minolta’s proprietary technologies, ensures sharp lines as well as impressive and long lasting colours. Apart from the implemented toner save mode, it is the simple monochrome copy function and the additional duplex print unit that keep costs down in everyday operation of the new all-rounders.
Even inexperienced users will be able to cope with the magicolor 1680MF and the magicolor 1690MF quickly, as self-explanatory buttons make their handling quite effortless while the clear layout of their large display is readily comprehensible for everybody. With their unobtrusive, compact design and small footprint, the devices perfectly fit into any office. Users will also benefit from the easy way to exchange consumables as both all-in-ones offer direct access to cartridges right from the front of the systems.
As a part of Konica Minolta’s comprehensive environmental commitment the company recycles empty cartridges to 99% in its global Clean Planet Program. This programme also includes technical innovations, leading to lower environmental impact of its products. The Simitri HD toner used with the magicolor 1680MF and the magicolor 1690MF requires a significantly lower fusing temperature compared to conventional toners and thus consumes much less energy. The toner’s environmental friendliness starts as early as during its production process: 40% less carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide are emitted than during the production of conventional toners.
“The new magicolor 1680MF and magicolor 1690MF are an ideal for any small business or home office as users can now have a compact, quiet all in one colour device that can produce high quality documents,” adds Harminder Ramanay, Head of Marketing IT Channel.
