Metso reduces personnel in the USA

Wednesday 17. December 2008 - Metso will carry out a personnel reduction of 25 employees in York, Pennsylvania, the USA.

The turmoil in the global economy has led to changes in the market environment for the mining industry, creating a weaker demand for Metso’s products and services. The reduction of workforce concerns members of the staff in tasks related to contract administration and engineering. Manufacturing operations will not be affected.

The reductions will commence by the end of 2008. The affected members of the staff have been informed about the planned changes and reduction of workforce. The Metso unit in York employs altogether 330 persons and is a part of the company´s Mining business line.
