ContiTech printing blanket production certified

Tuesday 02. December 2008 - Waltershausen plant checked by DQS GmbH • Printing blanket section fulfills high environmental standards • Processes ensure consistent quality for customers

The production of printing blankets at the ContiTech site in Waltershausen became certified in accordance with DIN ISO 9001 (management processes) and 14001 (environmental standards) on November 22, 2008. Over a period of three days, two experts from the independent company Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen GmbH (DQS) inspected all of ContiTech’s processes and ways of dealing with environmental factors such as waste water, waste, emissions and energy consumption.

“We are proud of the result, especially of our environmental standards. The certification shows that we have already incorporated the DIN standards into our daily life,” said Dr. Thomas Perkovic, segment manager for printing blankets at ContiTech. “The inspectors have thus confirmed that we’re systematically doing all that we can to consistently provide our customers with high-value products.” The audit also included an evaluation of risk management in the case of a disaster or emergency. The certificate is valid for three years and will be verified by DQC annually.
