BRAU Beviale 2008 – Review
Tuesday 25. November 2008 - BERICAP once more did exhibit its products at the BRAU Beviale 2008.
BERICAPs main focus was the presentation of new closures and neck finish solutions aiming to reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources and in consequence to reduce the green house gas emissions (carbon footprint), but also offering cost savings to its customers by reducing weight.
BERICAP has enhanced its SuperShorty portfolio suitable to PCO 1881 and has extended the SuperShorty range. The venting capacity of the SuperShorty design has been enlarged to ensure safe venting on 2,5-l-bottles filled with up to 4,5 Vol% CO2. All SuperShorty variants are equipped with the well-proven DoubleSeal system for safe sealing also under hot climate conditions. In addition SuperShorty has been perfected to ensure proper rinsing after wet decontamination in aseptic filling lines. The SuperShorty product line has been extended by SuperShorty ECO, a light weight solution for high carbonated beverages and a SuperShorty variant for hotfill application. The SuperShorty Still version is in use for still water.
A change from PCO 1810 to PCO 1881 reduces the weight of the entire package. In case of a CSD package the neck weight is reduced from 5,05 g to 3,82 g. The total weight saving adds up to more than 2,5 g for neck and closure.
BERICAP also presented its closure range HexaLite for bottling of still water, which consists of HexaLite 26 FB, suitable for light weighted 26 mm neck finish and the HexaLite 29 FB, suitable for a light weighted 30 mm neck finish. All HexaLite closures are equipped with a slit and folded tamper evidence band (flexband) for efficient TE performance, reliable and forgiving application also on high-speed lines. The sealing system has been designed for maximum tightness. Both HexaLite closures variants allow significant resin savings for the entire package.
Another fairs highlight was BERICAPs PUSH PULL sports closures. The PUSH PULL 28mm, equipped with anti-sabotage feature, is enhanced for aseptic application and for application to low carbonated beverages. The closures are available for PCO 1810 and PCO 1881 neck.
