Bali Post celebrates 60 years with new Goss Community SSC press

Monday 17. November 2008 - The Bali Post, an Indonesian language newspaper, celebrated its 60th anniversary recently with the start-up of a new Goss Community SSC press. The investment was made to provide additional color capacity for the family-owned business, transforming the 20-page namesake title Bali Post from a 60 percent black and white publication, to a full-color title.

The new single-width press is configured as four four-high towers with a SSC 1:2 jaw folder and operates at speeds up to 35,000 cph. The new press has replaced another Community press which has been moved to another printing facility.

Bali Post is a subsidiary of the Kelompok Media Bali Post, a second-generation family-owned business founded in 1948. The group also publishes other local newspapers and prints newspapers and books for other publishers. Although the company’s roots are in newspaper publishing, the group expanded into radio in 1998 and into television in 2001. Bali Post Media Group now owns five radio stations, nine TV stations and has just launched a newspaper for mobile phones.
