New Goss Magnum presses in production at Nanfang Daily in China
Thursday 06. November 2008 - Configuration features 22 towers and eight folders
The Nanfang Daily Newspaper Group brought new Goss Magnum presses into production earlier this summer, marking the opening of its new Nanhai printing center near Guangzhou, China. With 22 towers and eight folders, the installation is the largest in the world for Magnum 4 presses and the first single-width newspaper press configuration in China capable of running up to 10 paper webs into a single folder.
The Nanfang Daily Newspaper Group is based in Nanhai in the heart of China’s Pearl Delta printing hub and has installed various Goss presses over the past two decades, including double-width Newsliner systems and single-width Universal, Urbanite, Community SSC and Magnum presses. In 2006, the group invested in four Magnum 4 presses to print its flagship daily newspaper, The Nanfang Daily, at its state-of-the-art facility in Guangzhou.
“Satisfaction with the performance of these Magnum presses installed two years ago, and dependable local support from Shanghai Goss Graphic Systems were the main factors for our investment decision,” Guangming Zhong, general manager of the Nanfang Daily Newspaper Group, confirms. “These 40,000-copies-per-hour single-width presses give us great flexibility in handling hundreds of different contract printing jobs and large or small circulation papers in various formats. We believe that the Magnum 4 press is the natural choice for us to pursue our business goals and new opportunities.”
