New Emag Digital Editions Module in Emagine

Tuesday 04. November 2008 - The latest range of enhancements have been announced for Emagine, the award-winning online production system from Wyndeham Pre-Press (WPP). These developments encompass planning, production, new media, post-publishing and business intelligence tools and include:

NEW MEDIA
eMag Digital Editions Module – Digital editions can be generated directly from Emagine, enabling publishers to develop their on-line brands instantly through a single interface. Rich media and interactivity can be added to enhance the user experience. eMag delivers customisable, detailed traffic analysis and site usage reports.

PRODUCTION
Flatplan Version Control – Emagine assists with administrative planning by providing users with the ability to save and load flatplan variations, an essential feature when in the early stages of flatplanning.

Updated Drag and Drop interface – Additional benefits include the selection and movement of any combination of pages (sequential or otherwise), with flatplan creation simplified via the updated interface.

Page Version Control – Consists of clear, numerical indicators displaying the version number of pages and spreads in production.

Email Flatplan – Emagine gives users the ability to generate a PDF of the currently selected flatplan and email it from within the system.

BUSINESS TOOLS
Visual Business Intelligence – Fully customisable to the publisher’s own Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), this module provides information in a variety of graphical formats allowing the publisher to identify trends in production and advertising across their portfolio.

Ad vouchering module – Once the publication is signed off for press Emagine can send a personalised email to each advertiser with a direct link to their advertisement in eMag. By avoiding the need to send voucher copies this saves additional print and postage costs, as well as providing clients with an electronic proof of insertion.

“Now we are extending the scope of Emagine far beyond its original pre-press remit and bringing print and digital online services within one controlled environment,” said Darren Ayles, Technical Director, WPP. “These updates represent a selection of recent developments to meet the needs of our clients. The Emagine system enables new features to be introduced and integrated seamlessly into the existing user interface avoiding upgrades or user training issues.”

Emagine is renowned for being a robust, stable and versatile online production system and is used to produce many of the UK’s leading weekly and monthly publications.
