CGS ORIS Press Matcher and ORIS Ink Saver

Wednesday 29. October 2008 - CGS has developed unique technologies to ensure that customers are able to print the highest quality work in the most efficient manner.

Using the same color management technology of ORIS Color Tuner, CGS’ ORIS Press Matcher maintains consistent color across a variety of output devices, including offset and web presses, digital presses, wide format printers, inkjet proofers and virtually any other color output device. The results are standardized color across multiple platforms and “color manage once, output many” on a variety of engines.

CGS ORIS Press Matcher Features & Benefits
• Individual presses or output devices can be characterized and files automatically color-optimized for each individual output
• Workflow to automatically convert digital files into one color space, while outputting on multiple devices
• ORIS’ automatic, hot folder-based workflow means increased operational efficiency, providing color consistency without the need for manual file editing.
• RIP-ready files result in significantly increased processing speeds and fewer output errors
• Color manage once, output or render many

CGS’ ORIS Ink Saver is based on award-winning CGS color management technology and an advanced 4D gamut mapping algorithms for color-managed, intelligent UCR/GCR ink reduction. In a one-step, automatic process ORIS Ink Saver significantly reduces the CMY components for all printed elements, and optimizes the black separation – while maintaining visual and colorimetric integrity.

CGS ORIS Ink Saver Features & Benefits
• Ink cost savings
• A more stable gray axis, providing better press stability, superior color representation, easier printing control and reduced make-ready time
• Faster ink drying time, resulting in improvements in run performance and printing speed
• Reduced total ink coverage with less print-through, with the ability to print on lower weight paper and significant savings in postal costs
• Reporting tools with ink saving calculation
