Monday 27. October 2008 - Professionals attend trade shows for a number of different reasons, including a desire to enhance their knowledge about technology and trends in their chosen fields. Graph Expo, taking place Oct. 26-29 at McCormick Place in Chicago, offers a variety of free seminars open to all attendees. Kodak speakers are participating in several programs designed to educate and enlighten graphic communications professionals.

Mark Weber, Vice President, Marketing, Electrophotographic Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, presents “Take Your Business to New Dimensions” on Sunday, Oct. 26, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. in Room S404bc, South Hall, Level 4. Weber will provide insights on some of the latest techniques for expanding digital printing capabilities and increasing revenue potential.
“Marketers and others who communicate with print continually strive to distinguish their materials and set themselves apart from their competition,” said Weber. “With solutions that include using variable data printing for creating customized documents as part of an integrated, personalized campaign or producing a raised print that looks and feels like the item in the image, digital printing provides many opportunities to maximize communications effectiveness.”
Pat McGrew will take part in a panel titled “Dazzling Revenue Results: High Impact Transactional Print” on Monday, Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. in Room N427a, North Hall, Level 4. The panel is sponsored by XPLOR International and will discuss how printers can create well designed statements that drive revenue, cut costs, and increase customer retention and loyalty.
Ari Shapiro, Solution Manager, CREO Branded Products, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, and Arjen van der Meulen, Director, Color, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, present in a two part session, “Understanding and Solving Common Color Issues,” on Monday, Oct. 27, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. in Room S403ab, South Hall, Level 4.
In part one of the presentation, “How to Produce High-Quality Color in the Digital Printing Industry,” Shapiro will share powerful and intuitive color management tools that help manage the color process and account for the numerous variables that come into play when seeking to achieve accurate color reproduction.
“In a digital printing environment, where multiple devices and technologies are often in use, an objective process is required to properly read and adjust the digital data,” said Shapiro. “This session looks at ways to reduce subjectivity when reproducing color.”
In part two of the presentation, “Color Relationship Management,” van der Meulen will discuss how to manage changes in color as a job moves through each step of the production process. His presentation will include an overview of KODAK COLORFLOW Software, which applies a strategy called Color Relationship Management for automatically adjusting color control elements, like curves and ICC profiles as they are linked to devices.
