GMG displays new media, drivers for new HP Z3200 and Epson Stylus(r) Pro 7900/9900 printers, and entire product line of color management and proofing solutions at Graph Expo.

Monday 27. October 2008 - GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, will launch its ColorProof drivers for the HP Z3200 and Epson Stylus Pro 7900/990 printers during Graph Expo 08 at booth #4855, along with the introduction of two new media in North American for the popular proofing solutions.

These new products support GMG’s entire product line of color management and proofing solutions, on display at Graph Expo.

New drivers for HP DesignJet Z3200 and Epson Stylus Pro 7900/9900 inkjet printers
At Graph Expo, GMG will demonstrate GMG ColorProof driving new inkjet printers:

– The 12-ink HP DesignJet, with new HP 73 Chromatic Red ink, enables easy calibration and profiling with its embedded spectrophotometer and also delivers great ink efficiency. The Z3200’s12-ink printing system, using HP Vivera pigment inks, features new HP 73 Chromatic Red ink, supporting up to 95 percent of the PANTONE(r) library.
– The new 11-ink Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 inkjet printers, with or without the optional Epson SpectroProofer(tm) spectrophotometer combine the precision of Epson’s MicroPiezo TFP(tm) print head with the performance of its Epson UltraChrome(r) HDR inks, supporting up to ten ink channels.

The GMG ColorProof drivers for the new inkjet printers allow users to take advantage of all the benefits of an internal spectrophotometer, along with the expanded color gamuts of the extended ink sets.

GMG ColorProof is able to operate the new inkjet printers much like other printers with internal spectrophotometers. Thus, GMG ProofControl unbundled, a complete proof verification system allowing automatic monitoring and recalibration of the printer, ensures that that every proof leaving the printers is a high-quality GMG contract proof. With the help of an internal spectrophotometer, every proof on the HP DesignJet Z3200 or Epson Stylus Pro 7900/9900 printers can be automatically verified. GMG Remote Calibration Wizard, an easy to use remote calibration tool for GMG ColorProof, supports wizard-based calibration and recalibration of printers at remote proofing sites, without the purchase of a separate application. The free, standalone application allows a remote printer to be calibrated with the help of a host ColorProof system – automatically, without any user intervention.

New GMG media at Graph Expo
GMG’s new substrates for high-quality proofing will be presented at Graph Expo 08. All GMG substrates exceed the stringent demands of color-accurate contract proofs. They all have excellent paper tint accuracy, particularly high ink limits and very good drying properties. The new GMG ProofPapers include GMG ProofPaper matte 140 and GMG ProofPaper gloss 250:

– GMG ProofPaper matte 140, with a bright white point and few optical brighteners, is an outstanding paper for producing high-quality matte proofs. It is suited for commercial printing, as profiles are available for the ISO 29, 30 and 32 standards. It is also a low cost option for high-quality proofs on uncoated stock for gravure printers. For flexo, it can be used effectively in conjunction with the structure simulation of GMG FlexoProof to simulate corrugated board or other cardboard products.

– GMG ProofPaper gloss 250 is a high-quality proofing paper for simulation on glossy materials-highly suitable for contract proofs. It is particularly suited to proofing high-quality glossy brochures, because the visual impression is close to the end product. Compared to other gloss papers, GMG ProofPaper gloss 250 has a consistent paper tint and can accept a large amount of ink, delivering a very large color space.

GMG substrates conform to the specifications of all common standards appropriate for the individual papers, such as ISO, PSR Gravure (ECI), SWOP and GRACoL. A wide variety of roll and sheet sizes are available, minimizing waste and maximizing the print format. The 3″ roll core guarantees optimum substrate flatness.

Entire GMG color management and proofing product line on display
GMG will be demonstrating its entire line of color management and proofing products. Earlier this year, the company announced that Adobe PDF Print Engine technology had been integrated not only in GMG ColorProof, but also in GMG DotProof, and GMG FlexoProof. In addition, the most current versions of ColorProof, DotProof, and FlexoProof focus on additional functions, even easier handling, and intuitive support of the various industry standards-important for all businesses that need to produce color-accurate contract proofs reliably, simply and consistently. The presentation for visitors will also include GMG PrintControl, software for standardizing the printing process from start to finish, and GMG RapidCheck, verification software that takes just a few mouse clicks to check compliance with printing process standards.
