EidosMedia unveils the latest Méthode release at IfraExpo

Friday 24. October 2008 - The latest features of EidosMedia’s new-generation editorial and publishing platform will be on show to visitors to this year’s IfraExpo in Amsterdam.

“The latest release of Méthode, which we will be presenting at this year’s IfraExpo, includes a number of new functionalities, especially in the Web publishing area,” said EidosMedia group president Angelo Grampa. “Méthode also has a new user interface which integrates and rationalises the many functions of what is now an extremely rich news creation and management platform.”

The new interface incorporates a number of ergonomic features designed to maximise productivity in every area from edition planning to graphic design. Users can configure and save multiple workspaces in order to have the right tools to hand for each type of editorial operation.

A new multi-user facility allows a single story to be worked on simultaneously by more than one user, while maintaining Méthode’s single-copy principle which simplifies updating and correction across multiple channels.

An innovation which will streamline the release of finished pages to the print ouput queues is Méthode’s new Output Manager. This allows pages to be released from the client in the form of lightweight PDFs with image data linked but not embedded. The processing of the corresponding high-resolution files is handled by the Méthode server, quickly freeing up the client workstation.

The demonstrations at the EidosMedia stand are designed to give visitors first-hand experience of a complete range of multiple-media editorial and publishing functions:

“We will be encouraging visitors to take part in hands-on demonstrations of Web functions such as the real-time incorporation of user-generated content into news portals,” said Angelo Grampa. “The best way to experience the power and flexibility of Méthode is to see it in action,” he added. “We have an impressive lineup of features and functionality to show our visitors.”
