Xerox and Business Partners to Highlight Digital Technology at Graph Expo
Tuesday 21. October 2008 - Attendees can see a host of products that deliver real-world, profitable applications
Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) is teaming with its Xerox Business Partners to give print providers a glimpse of the latest digital printing technologies that will help produce high-margin print jobs such as digital books, photo specialty products, marketing collateral and customized direct-mail campaigns.
More than two dozen business partners will showcase software and finishing solutions on display at Xerox’s booth at Graph Expo, the nation’s largest annual printing trade show, Oct. 26-29 in Chicago.
Visitors to Xerox’s booth, No. 1219, will get hands-on demonstrations and talk to Xerox and business partner representatives throughout the booth. Key industry topics will be covered, such as how to produce books and manuals, collateral, direct mail and transpromo documents, and how digital and offset technologies can work together seamlessly. Several partners’ products have been given the designation “Optimized for Xerox FreeFlow,” a reflection of extensive integration efforts, including test and validation, utilizing Xerox FreeFlow software development kits.
“Applications are the language of our customers. Xerox, along with our business partners, delivers solutions to help our customers generate profitable applications, regardless of their size or focus,” said Quincy Allen, president, Xerox Production Systems Group. “There’s no better way to learn about the power of these solutions then to see them in action.”
The Xerox Business Partner Program consists of leading software and hardware providers that extend the functionality of Xerox products and services. Xerox and these companies enable print providers to take advantage of new digital printing opportunities through expanded applications or reduced costs. The program has been helping customers optimize their operations for more than 25 years.
The Right Solutions, Right Now
Some of the partner solutions on display in the Xerox booth include:
Books and Manuals: DigiLabs’ My Photo Creation Suite of software enables customers to use a variety of Xerox digital printers and presses to create vibrant photobooks, calendars, greeting cards and other specialty photo-based items. DigiLabs customizes its software for licensees who in turn distribute it to end-users to create and send orders. DigiLabs offers both at-home (online ordering) and retail (in-store) software.
The software has been validated on Xerox DocuColor 7000AP/8000AP Digital Presses and iGen3 Digital Production Presses.
Direct Mail: Elixir’s Vitesse software is a rapid application design tool for creating personalized documents such as catalogs and direct-mail pieces. The Windows-based tool for VIPP Pro applications is now included as an offering that augments the power of Xerox’s FreeFlow Workflow Solutions. The software supports Xerox’s Specialty Imaging Suite, with security features such as MicroText and GlossText. The easy-to-use interface features a real-time visual designer that renders layout with variable-data merging.
Automation: Avanti Systems will display its Graphic Arts Management System software, which helps commercial printers and in-plant print shops manage their operations. The software can be tailored to specific needs, is used with black and white, color, wide format and continuous feed devices, and provides 24-hour access to job status via the Internet. Avanti’s software offers real-time views of estimates, equipment utilization, sales trends and jobs. It interfaces to any Xerox press with a Xerox FreeFlow Print Server or Xerox EX Print Server Powered by Fiery. The software enables commercial printers to track their profitability and deliver the highest value applications to their customers.
