FUJIFILM announces toner reduction solution
Monday 06. October 2008 - First UK showcase of Toner Quality Control (TQC) solution for Xerox DocuColor presses at Total Print! Expo
FUJIFILM today announces that the first UK demonstration of its Toner Quality Control (TQC) solution will be at Total Print! Expo 2008. This solution specifically optimises the toner usage on Xerox DocuColor digital presses, not only reducing the amount of toner used but also producing output quality much closer to offset print.
The TQC software uses ICC profiles to generate a unique list of settings or TQC profile which is then fed back to the DocuColor. This profile prescribes the correct calibration settings for the press, colour managing each job to ensure that the optimum density of toner is put down on the page. In addition, a Grey Colour Replacement (GCR) function retains the correct colour balance in all areas.
Graham Leeson, marketing manager at Fujifilm Graphic Systems, says: “This is a great solution for printers who are looking to achieve offset-like results on a digital press. For offset printers who have expanded into digital production or for standalone digital printers, the TQC solution is a great tool, producing better quality digital output than ever before. This new solution, combined with our XMF cross-media workflow, the widest range of high quality toner and inkjet presses, our award-winning plates and other complementary technologies, highlights that Fujifilm does indeed offer the very best in short-run print.”
