Avery Dennison Names Richard Hoffman Senior Vice President and CIO
Friday 03. October 2008 - Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) today announced the appointment of Richard W. Hoffman to the position of senior vice president and chief information officer, effective October 1, 2008.
“Rich brings more than 20 years of experience as an IT executive to Avery Dennison and will play an active role on our senior management team,” said Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer. “As CIO, he will be responsible for providing overall strategic direction for Companywide use of information technology to further enable achievement of the Company’s goals and business processes.”
As CIO, Hoffman will oversee enterprise-wide Information Technology (IT) strategy development, both short- and long-term; direct the definition, development, implementation and maintenance of corporate and shared services application systems; create the Company’s annual technology plan and budget; and oversee ongoing projects and strategic vendor alliances. He succeeds Kenneth Wolinsky, who will continue to work on special projects for the Company.
Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Hoffman served as president and chief executive officer for Hyundai Information Services North America (HISNA), a stand-alone shared services company owned by Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motor America. Prior to HISNA, he worked at Dole Food Company, Cummins, Inc., Yamaha Motor Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Embassy Communications.
Hoffman earned his B.S., Business Administration in Finance and Management Science, from California State University Northridge, California.
