The New York Times Expands Distribution in Santa Fe Area
Friday 03. October 2008 - New Print Site Agreement with The Santa Fe New Mexican
The New York Times announced today that it has entered into an agreement with The Santa Fe New Mexican to print The Times at their printing plant in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The agreement, to take effect in early October, will enable The Times to extend newsstand and home delivery, both weekday and Sunday, to readers in the Santa Fe area and to better serve existing markets in the surrounding area.
“This new agreement with The Santa Fe New Mexican underscores The Times’s commitment to provide high-quality journalism to more readers in more markets throughout North America,” said Scott Heekin-Canedy, president and general manager of The New York Times. “This is the third print site expansion we’ve completed this year, following Dallas in January and Philadelphia in March.”
The Santa Fe New Mexican currently prints 16 other commercial publications on its four-year-old German KBA press. “It’s an honor to be part of the production effort of a great national newspaper,” said Robin McKinney Martin, publisher of The Santa Fe New Mexican.
With the addition of the Santa Fe site, The New York Times will be printed at 25 locations in North America: Chicago, Ill.; Gardenia, Calif.; Deerfield Beach, Fla.; Austin, Tex.; Seattle, Wash.; Canton, Ohio; Concord, Calif.; Atlanta, Ga.; Springfield, Va.; Billerica, Mass.; Lakeland, Fla.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Denver, Colo.; Princeton, Minn.; Gastonia, N.C.; Dayton, Ohio; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Columbia, Mo.; Toronto, Ontario; Houston, Tex; Dallas, Tex.; Salt Lake City, Utah and Philadelphia, Pa.
