Rose Calendars selects Speedmaster to replace ageing Roland

Friday 03. October 2008 - Rose Calendars has re-equipped with a Speedmaster SM 74-2 to help it to cope with the high seasonal demand for calendars at this time of year.

The new press replaces an ageing MAN Roland R200. Heidelberg technology was chosen over rival presses because of its overall performance, ease of use and quality of output.

“We invest every year and this press comes just two years after we installed a SM 52. The operators like running Speedmaster technology,” says works director Ralph White-Robinson.

The press will run on a day shift basis and will handle spot colour commercial calendars primarily. Although the press is faster most of the calendars are produced for stock and called off and over-printed with bespoke details on request.

Rose Calendars ahs a sister company in Tenby also producing 99% calendars. This summer a Polar 115X was supplied to the Welsh operation to beef up cutting capacity.
